The Revere Bell in Fredericksburg Va, donated in 1828 rings of a true love story
This 1828 Revere bell was provided to the town of Fredericksburg by Silas Wood to celebrate his successful courtship of Julie Ann Brock, a town resident. The bell weighs 600 pounds. Generally, the Revere's charged $.43 a pound suggesting the bell cost $258.

Not many love stories result in a historic landmark, but if there was ever a place for that to happen, it would be downtown Fredericksburg.
Silas Wood, a Long Island native and flour merchant, moved to the area in the 1800s and married Fredericksburg native Julie Ann Brock.
To repay the city for introducing him to the love of his life, he donated a bell to the old Fredericksburg courthouse. That bell, the only known Revere Bell in Virginia, has been ringing since 1828 — a long-lasting legacy for a #lovefxbg story.
Editor’s Note: Revere Bells were cast out of Paul Revere’s bellfoundry in Boston from 1792 to 1828 [last bell made was 1843}. The old Fredericksburg courthouse tower houses the 600 pound Revere Bell given by Wood, one of only 134 surviving Revere Bells, according to Fredericksburg Historic Court Records.
